 2)  STOP USING YOUR OLD ACCOUNT.

bullet

Balance your old account and make sure all outstanding checks have cleared (allow at least 10 days).

bullet

Leave enough funds in your old account to cover pending automatic withdrawals.  Do not close the account until you have switched over any automatic deposits or withdrawals to your new Jackson County Bank account.

bullet

If you are moving, you should provide your new address to your old bank in case any correspondence is necessary at a later time.

bullet

Notify your old bank that you are closing your account.

bullet

Destroy any debit cards, checks or deposit slips for your old account once the account is completely closed.

3)  SWITCH OVER AUTOMATIC DEPOSITS AND WITHDRAWALS.
Provide the businesses that have automatic deposits or withdrawals for your old account with your new account information so that these transactions can be revised.

The Automatic Withdrawal Notice may be used to set up or transfer automatic payment from your Jackson County Bank deposit account to a business that offers automatic withdrawal payments.  To complete this form, print it, complete and sign it, attach your voided check and submit it to the company that you wish to pay via automatic withdrawal.

The Direct Deposit Notice may be used to set up or transfer a direct deposit to your Jackson County Bank deposit account.  Print it, complete and sign it, attach your voided check and submit it to the source of your direct deposit.  For direct deposit of Social Security you may go to  Social Security's Web Site , call the Social Security office, or bring your Social Security check into the bank and we can set it up for you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT.  To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.  What this means for you:  When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.  We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
