5/20/20  If you qualify for an Economic Impact Payment, the government might mail you your money on a prepaid VISA debit card issued by Meta Bank.

Starting the week of May 18th, approximately 4 million eligible recipients of Economic Impact Payments (EIP) will receive an EIP Card in the mail. The EIP Card is a Treasury-sponsored, VISA-branded, prepaid debit card that provides a safe, convenient and secure way for EIP recipients to access their Economic Impact Payments without having to go to a bank or credit union to cash a check.  See Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for more information.

Our team is monitoring information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as state and local agencies, to align our actions with the recommendations and guidance provided to minimize the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19).  We have implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols, have made hand sanitizers available at all locations, and our employees have been trained on the best practices to protect against COVID-19.

To support these efforts we are temporarily limiting lobby access at the Black River Falls locations (8 Main Street and 660 Hwy 54 East). The mini-lobby located at the Water Street entrance of the Black River Falls downtown location and the drive-ups at both Black River Falls locations will be open. You will still have access to a personal banker, loan officer, or access to your safe deposit box by appointment. Please call (715) 284-5341 to make an appointment so we can accommodate your needs. Lobby and drive-up services and hours at Alma Center, Hixton, Merrillan and Taylor branch locations have not changed.


We continue to offer many options to serve your banking needs.

  • The convenience of Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Bill Pay and Remote Deposit are great tools to manage your accounts remotely, and they are available 24/7/365. These services offer the tools to view your account information, transfer funds, pay bills and deposit checks wherever you may be.
  • Our drive-up services remain available during regular hours and can offer you many services. ATMs are also available as an option for your banking needs.
  • Night Depository boxes are available at every location. Please include a deposit ticket with your deposit and enclose in an envelope.
  • You may contact the Jackson County Bank securely using the Contact Us option on our website jacksoncountybank.com, or signing in to Internet Banking and selecting the Contact option.
  • You may call us for assistance at (715) 284-5341. We will have staff available to take your calls, however we ask for your patience if call volume becomes higher than normal.

Please continue to be vigilant regarding scams that may take advantage of the COVID-19 threat as an opportunity to steal your information or money. Criminals may take advantage of your concerns, impersonating charities, government agencies or medical facilities. Watch for suspicious emails, texts or phone calls. Do not click on links or open attachments in emails that you are not expecting, and do not give out your personal or account information when you have not initiated the call. Remember that the bank will not contact you to verify your account information or request your credentials.

Rest assured that during this challenging time, your money is safe and we will continue to service your needs. Your deposits are insured by the FDIC up to $250,000. Cash outside of the bank is not insured and can be stolen, lost or destroyed.
